WHAT IS A HARDENER PACKET?

When your Rx Destroyer bottle is full, the Rx Destroyer Hardener Packet is a hardening agent that solidifies contents to meet the EPA’s free liquid landfill test method. Rx Destroyer Hardener Packets help prevent potential messy liquid spills in the waste stream, and its unique dust-free formulation converts the disposed drugs and activated charcoal mix into a solid gel in minutes.

HOW DO I USE THE HARDENER PACKETS?

When your Rx Destroyer bottle is full and contents are within 2 inches from the bottle opening, simply add the hardening packet, agitate, and dispose. It really is that simple. Pouch wrapper is designed to begin dissolving on contact. Some medications, drugs or combinations may not be compatible with Rx Destroyer Hardener Packets due to their chemical composition.

DO I NEED TO TEAR OPEN AND POUR THE HARDENER PACKET CONTENTS INTO THE BOTTLE?

The water-soluble hardener packet is designed to begin dissolving on contact when added to the Rx Destroyer product. Some medications, drugs or combinations may not be compatible with Rx Destroyer Hardener Packets due to their chemical composition.

HOW MANY HARDENER PACKETS DO I NEED FOR MY PRODUCT?

The amount of hardener packets needed varies based on the size of the bottle being used. The hardener packet itself has the amount of hardener packets needed per bottle size.

DO HARDENER PACKETS COME WITH BOTH FORMULAS?

Hardener Packets are only included with Rx Destroyer Liquid Products. Rx Destroyer Liquid line of products includes enough hardener packets for each bottle in the case. However, Hardener packets are available to purchase separately for your All-Purpose products.

WHAT IF I PUT A HARDENER PACKET IN AN ALL-PURPOSE PRODUCT?

It is safe to put hardener packets in an All-Purpose Product, however the hardener is optional and packets are sold separately. The hardener packets assist with thickening the solution inside of the bottle. The All-Purpose formula typically thickens to paint consistency as pharmaceuticals are added. When using harder packets with All-Purpose formula, ensure that bottle contains at least 10% liquid. This allows hardener packets to fully dissolve, allowing disposed medication contents to achieve optimal hardened state.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I LOSE MY HARDENER PACKETS OR NEED MORE?

Each Rx Destroyer Liquid Line product comes with Hardener Packets included. If you lose your Hardener Packet, you can also buy them separately based on the bottle size. Please contact sales@rxdestroyer.com or call 888-608-5160.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE CONSISTENCY IS NOT HARD AFTER INSERTING THE HARDENER PACKET?

After adding the Hardener Packet, the liquid normally converts to solid gel within 24 hours of being placed into the Rx Destroyer bottle. After 24 hours, the liquid should be the thickness of paint, never fully solid.

*Once contents reach a gel consistency, always follow applicable federal, state, local, and tribal laws & regulations for pharmaceutical waste disposal.
