Rx Destroyer Names Shellby Ford 2026 Prevention Impact Scholarship Winner

July 8, 2026

East Troy, Wis., July 15, 2026 – Rx Destroyer is proud to announce Shellby Troy as the 2026 recipient of the Rx Destroyer Prevention Impact Scholarship, an annual scholarship created to recognize high school students who are actively leading efforts in opioid misuse prevention, overdose prevention, medication safety, and community education.

Shellby, a senior at Grant High School in Newaygo County, Michigan, was selected for her work creating a medication disposal and prevention resource project designed to help her community safely dispose of unused medications and access overdose prevention resources.

Through her initiative, Shellby developed educational materials that raise awareness around medication drop box locations, Narcan access, local recovery resources, and opioid misuse prevention education. Her project is designed to reach students, families, and community members across Newaygo County through schools, local businesses, community partners, and public safety channels.

“Prevention is more than awareness. It means giving people the information and resources they need to take action,” said Shellby Ford. “By making Narcan locations, recovery resources, and medication disposal options easier to find, I hope more people in my community feel supported before a crisis happens.”

As the 2026 Prevention Impact Scholarship recipient, Shellby will receive a $2,500 scholarship toward her post-secondary education or training, along with 100 Rx Destroyer pouches to support continued prevention efforts in her community.

“At Rx Destroyer, we believe prevention starts with people who are willing to take action in their own communities,” said Myranda Eckert, Marketing Director for Rx Destroyer. “Shellby’s work reflects the purpose of this scholarship and the kind of leadership we are proud to support.”

The Prevention Impact Scholarship was created to honor students who are working to make a meaningful difference in the fight against opioid misuse and overdose. Through the scholarship, Rx Destroyer aims to support young leaders who are raising awareness, educating their peers, and helping connect communities to safer medication disposal and prevention resources.

Rx Destroyer congratulates Shellby Troy and all applicants who are working to make a difference through prevention, education, and community impact.
